When Stop the water while using me contacted me and shared the companies commitment to a holistic sustainability philosophy I was really interested in trying their all natural skincare products.
They very generously sent me quite a few of the products from their range. The Cucumber and lime liquid soap, orange and wild herbs shower gel, almond and fig body oil, wild mint toothpaste and tooth brush and moroccan mint lip balm. All the products have the most beautiful fresh scents, I would be hard pressed to find a favourite.
I have been loving the really fresh zingy scents of the soap and the shower gel. Its perfect for an invigorating shower to start the day.
My skin is always dry and in winter it really takes a battering. The almond and fig body oil has been a god sent. I have been applying it after the shower and during the day if my hands are getting dry . Its so great on the cuticles too.
I have never used a natural toothpaste before and was a little concerned that I wouldn’t like it. I was pleasantly surprised. Its beautiful and minty fresh with out being to sweet and harsh like some toothpastes can be. I prefer a medium bristle brush and this one is great, not to soft nor to hard.
The Moroccan mint lip balm has become a permanent fixture in my hand bag. I love the subtle hint of mint and it is beautifully hydrating.

I receive a lot of emails asking about my skincare regime. My skin ranges between normal to dry, the only skin issue I have is some pretty severe rosacea and some broken capillaries over my cheeks. My daily skincare routine is fairly simple, I do add other masks and treatments during the week when needed.
My Daily Skincare Regime
Starting off the day, I use the Mario Badescu enzyme cleansing gel. I love this cleanser and am on my second bottle. It is a non-foaming formula which is perfect to use with my Clarasonic.
Which brings me to my second product/tool. I love my Clarasonic Mia it makes getting my skin clean of all the makeup and grime of the day so effortless. If I stop using it I really notice a difference in my skin.
After this, I use the DR. Brandt pore dermabrasion once or twice a week after I have cleansed. I give my face a good scrub and then leave it on my face while I wash my body, then rinse.
On the days I don’t use the Dr Brandt I use the Nip Fab+ glycolic fix daily cleansing pads.
In the mornings I apply Bio oil* to my face and neck then I apply the Racinne delicate soothing cream. Both products keep my skin smooth, nourished and hydrated.
Then at night…
At night instead of the bio oil* I apply the Estee Lauder advanced night repair.
I love to use a sheet mask at least once a week my favourites are the Trefiel* lace anti ageing mask.
The only other products I forgot to include are my eye cream and of course my sunscreen.

The Doll Connection event
I had heard of The Doll Connection and the events they hold and thought maybe an event like this would be just what I needed to get my mojo back.
Mid last year I got into a bit of a blog/content rut and was really struggling to create great photos and content for my blog and instagram.
So when they announced the next event I was quick to jump in.
The event was held at the Brunswick hotel in new farm. The event was a mix of meeting some new fabulous people and discovering new brands and products, to panel discussions that were funny and also informative.
Stunning garnish with 24k chocolates
Apart from the guest speakers (Amber Lowther,Kodi Brown,Tho Gardner) I also met some incredible bloggers and had lots of fun chatting and comparing notes.
I was lucky enough to get my nails bedazzled by the team from Mermaid Julisa who were sharing there stunning polishes with us.
I also really enjoyed playing with the Racinne skincare products, and was lucky enough to come home with some to trial along with lots of other goodies.
My other firm favourite products from the event were the Teza drink iced tea. We all received on at the event and I was lucky enough to win a prize pack to take home, the only problem was keeping the kids hands of them.
The event was lots of fun and really informative. I look forward to sharing all the new products I received with you so keep an eye open on the blog. Have you attended a blog event like this one before? xD
Her shave club
When Her shave club contacted me asking if I would like to try their subscription razors I was so excited. Living in a house with hubby and two teenage daughters having a fresh razor in the house is rare as hens teeth these days. So the idea of having high quality razors like these delivered right to my door step each month was very appealing.
The razors themselves
I was a little worried how my sensitive skin would go with the razors as I have had issues in the past with cheaper razors causing rashes and skin irritations. I had no such issues with the Her Shave Club razors. I tried the consultant (pink) razor first and was blown away at the super close shave it achieved, but also that it didn’t irritate my skin at all. My husband also has quite sensitive skin and has trouble with razor burn and skin irritations, but had no such issue with the her shave club razors. With two choices available the date night designed to have less aggressive blades for less irritation. Then the consultant a simple three blade razor.
How it works
For a small monthly fee ($6-$8 a month) a parcel containing a razor handle and three or four cartridges depending on the type you choose gets delivered to your door. No more forgetting razors at the supermarket. With no lock in contracts you have nothing to loose. If your a large house hold, no problems just add another set to your subscription. Can we take a minute to talk about hoe cute the packaging is too, You all know what a sucker I am for cute packaging.
Have you tried a razor subscription service? if not, are looking for a great reliable razor sent directly to your door each month (no lock in contracts) for a minimal cost then Her shave club is for you.
QV Self check breast cream
Most people have been touched by cancer in someway. Either yourself or someone you care about has had to battle this disease at some stage. QV self check breast cream is here to help.
As a cancer survivor myself, and the sister of a breast cancer survivor, when I heard that QV skincare had partnered with the McGrath foundation to create an incredible social movement #IPledgeToCheck I knew I had to get involved and spread the message.
Did you know that breast cancer is the most common cancer for women aged 20-39 years? I know most of my readers fit into this age bracket and because I care about all of you I have to share a simple and effective way to get to know your body and check your breasts.
Regular breast self checks are an easy way to become familiar and monitor breast changes. If cancer is found while limited to the breast, 96% of patients will be alive five years after diagnosis.
We all know the importance of self checking our breast. I also know it can be a bit daunting. We just don’t know quite what to do right?
Well QV skincare have made it so easy for us with their self check breast cream. Encouraging women to get into the habit of self checking to become familiar with the look and feel of your breasts while moisturising.
Each pack of QV self check breast cream comes with a free educational leaflet stepping out the breast self check process. $2 from every pack sold is donated to the McGrath foundation. You can get your own breast check cream from your local pharmacy.
I have taken the QV self check pledge and hope you will too, it could save your life. #IPledgeToCheck
My current skincare routine
If you have been a long term reader of my blog you may remember, a few years ago a had a lot of trouble with my skin. Major hormonal issues I was having were playing havoc. My once low maintenance clear skin became a nightmare. I was covered in painful, unsightly cystic acne. So I was fearful about changing to my current skincare routine.
You can read all about that here. Once I found something that worked for my skin I was afraid to change my routine.
I one by one swapped out the products I had been using for my current routine and my skin couldn’t be happier. I have found that doing less and using gentler products on my skin has made such a difference.
from left to right- Clarasonic mia, Mario Badescu enzyme cleansing gel, Mario Badescu facial spray, Mario Bedescu honey moisturiser, este lauder advanced night repair and chanel le lift eye cream.
I absolutely love my clarasonic mia, no matter how much makeup or grim my face takes on the clarasonic gets in deep and makes my skin so clean without aggravating my skin.
The enzyme cleansing gel is beautiful, it smells amazing and dose a fantastic job removing all traces of the day, But don’t get it in your eyes that shit stings.
The facial spray is sunning, I spray my face after my shower before I apply the honey moisturiser and it really helps it melt into my skin.
At night after I have cleansed with the clarasonic and the enzyme cleanser I apply the este lauder advanced night repair and the le lift eye cream.
This is the daily routine I have at the moment, It does not include the extra treatments I do such as masks and peels.
Do you have a strict skincare routine? xD
